Technical with Jay Dickinson, 3D printers are a versatile tool for making jigs for piano restoration and replacement parts. We will explore the basics of 3D printers- the types of printers, materials, setup and design of prints with some examples of usage and a demo of the actual printing of a part relevant to piano technology.

Meeting Location: River Valley Piano- Rich Lindhal 101 Industrial Park Rd, Unit B Vernon, CT
3:30pm Technical with Hillary York, RPT and Louis Del Bene, present “Intro to Holes for the Road-Tech". A quick summary of how to make holes. We'll spend the majority of the time talking about how to deal with stripped out holes (stack screws, flange screws, etc...). Includes hands on practice! Dinner & business meeting to follow.

We will be working on a 1940's Baldwin 9' grand. The work to be done: Clean inside of piano. Touchup outside finish of case. Action will include, evening out friction, adjustment, and regulation.

March 28-30 Hands on Training
​The Advanced Hands-on Training will consist of over 20 stations, with videos on performing the repair or regulation. Facilitators will assist you, but this is a self-guided learning experience at your own pace.
Cost: $250 for 20 hours of station access. Food included.
Hours of Training:
Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.,
Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

If you are a piano technician or someone who is interested in becoming a piano technician, and would like to find out more about the PTG and the Connecticut Chapter, you are welcome to come to one of our meetings or events. The Piano Technicians Guild is the world's largest nonprofit organization serving piano tuners, technicians, and craftspersons.
PTG’s mission is to promote the highest possible standards of piano service by providing members with opportunities for professional development, by recognizing technical competence through examinations and by advancing the interests of its members.
PTG sponsors meetings, seminars, workshops and conventions, and publishes a monthly technical magazine, the Piano Technicians Journal, which features a wealth of technical information ranging from useful hints to in-depth instruction on tuning, repairing and rebuilding.
PTG members can also earn the Registered Piano Technician (RPT) accreditation through examination.
